Top 100 Music Reviewer

I have to admit I was loathed to buy this CD, as for me Oasis were just rolling out the same bland music seemingly without any effort recently. I don't agree with some other reviewers that they never went away, I think they are just the die hard fans for whom the Gallaghers can do no wrong! The last album for example for me had nothing memorable on it whatsoever. When this was down in price in the sale, thought I would give them one last chance. I was pleasantly surprised. This album has a much fresher sound, although it is still Oasis through and through. OK, still not up to their classic albums, but they have pulled their socks up and put together a good album.

For those modern 'indie kids', enthralled by some of the rubbish currently dominating the market such as The Wombats, Kaiser Chiefs and all that Emo tosh then surely this is a real musical lesson: a band who have found a successful recipe, stuck to it and produced hit after hit.
Oasis will always be Oasis, don't expect anything revolutionary at this stage. Quite simply, if it's 'balls out' British rock you're looking for, nobody does it better.

Glad to see Oasis back, from what ive seen in term's of reviews on here i wasn't expecting much, but when i saw it at £5.99 i had to get it and glad i did, this is one of the better oasis albums ive herd with some classic tunes on there such as Bag it Up, The Turning, im Outta time and the shock of the lightning

Ok so i hated their last album but this sounds a much more relaxed and comfortable album and the rewards are their to hear. Some good tracks on here and a nice mix of songs. This album is listenable from start to finish and is well suited from loud in the car to background music indoors. Class

This review refers to Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul (Download Album version).

At first the songs seemed fairly regular and nothing special. But after listening to the album 2 or 3 times it really grew on me. The lyrics are amazing and the way this music is written shows how good oasis really are. A future classic!

Right where to begin on this album, the day i brought it i put it on and wasnt impressed but after seeing them live and performe the songs thats when you begin to appreciate the qulity of the album and the talent put into it.noels songs are great and liams are classic and it all falls into place.the track order is perfect.if you only know a few songs of oasis like wonderwall then this album is not for you.

This album could be split into 2. The first half is wrote by Noel Gallagher and the second half is not, the difference is clear and Noel's importance to the band is underlined when Liam is allowed to go for it in a few later songs where the album spirals off massively. I think it may work out better for Noel to get some solo experience and try some ideas before they try again. Dissapointed.

A fantastic new album from Oasis - much bouncier, almost folk-like at times, but you can still hear the distinct drumline that makes Oasis who they are. I didn't even know they had a new single out when it came over the radio, but in the first few bars, you could just tell.

This is Oasis all over - but definitely new. They play much more with melodies in this one, and you just can't help but jig along to if not every track then at least the majority of them. I find myself playing some tracks over and over and over again - they're ridiculously addictive!

Yet another fantastic new album for the tail end of 2008, and so glad I found out about it before it was released - gave me a chance to get hyped up. I've always loved Oasis, from way back when they released Definitely Maybe, and am thrilled to listen to how they've developed. This is different, but it's them: it's another stepping stone in the Oasis story, and I can't wait to see how it progresses; the Gallaghers are growing up.

Truly Oasis at their best.. This album takes us on a complicated journey. A refreshing change from the usual Brit-Pop drivel.
This is one of those albums that has to be listened to as a whole and not just the odd track here and there.
Serious music lovers will love it.. brit-poppers go elsewhere.. you're not wanted here ;p
